About the Cottages . . . How do you define a "cottage?" Here on Sea Island, they run the gamut, from affordable three-bedroom bungalows to luxurious nine-bedroom homes. Many are outfitted with swimming pools. Approximately one-third of the more than 500 homes and 44 condominiums on Sea Island are available for rental through the Cottage Rentals Department of the Sea Island Company. You are welcome to come and stay as long as you like, but typically, the minimum rental term is one week.
How much is splendid isolation worth? Our rates range from $2,400 to $22,000 a week. If seven days in paradise isn't enough, monthly stays are also available from $9,000 to $35,000. (Stays less than seven days are sometimes available with a three-night minimum.) Daily maid services are available for an additional fee, and our guests pay for them upon departure, as well as utility charges incurred for heating a pool.
Just Bring Yourself . . . When you come to Sea Island, all you need to pack are your personal essentials. We take care of the rest. Each cottage is completely furnished with everything you'll need . . . entertainment center, fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, fresh linens and incomparable style.
Shopping on the Island . . . Escaping from the outside world does not mean you have to forego convenience. There is an array of shops and service facilities conveniently located on Sea Island. Pamper yourself with a full service hair salon, flower shop, package store, apparel store, and gift shop. If you must keep your finger on the pulse of the outside world, you'll find a business center and newsstand at your disposal. If you need housekeeping services, you may arrange them through the cottage housekeeping department. If you crave a night out without your children, safe, reliable babysitting services are also available.
If you want other services, like a grocery or drug store, you'll find them a short drive away in "The Shops at Sea Island" on nearby St. Simons Island. And good healthcare is close by at the Island Health Pavilion or the 340-bed Regional Hospital in mainland Brunswick.
Walk to the Beach . . . Because of the narrow shape of Sea Island, most of the rental cottages are either on the beach or within a short walk of the ocean. You may also choose a cottage with a view of the vast saltmarshes and tidal creeks along Sea Island's western side, giving you and your guests an unparalleled vantage point for observing the island's rich wildlife and plant heritage. Sidewalks run along the length of Sea Island Drive, making walking and bicycling a pleasant way to reach The Cloister and other resort facilities.
Fine Dining or Casual Fare . . . "Dress for Dinner," or "come as you are." Either way, you'll find a generous selection of dining venues for breakfast, luncheon and dinner. Catch a more casual meal indoors or outdoors at the Sea Island Beach Club and the Sea Island Golf Club. Take a break after your round of golf at the Davis Love Grill, or enjoy an intimate dinner at Colt & Alison's. The menus vary as much as the dress code, so you will always be able to match your meal to your mood. Do not forget, dinner reservations are required at all dining venues.
Sports and Recreation . . . If you would like to try something a little more challenging than walking on the beach, Sea Island has the perfect answer. Our Cottage guests will find a wide variety of sports and recreational activities that will appeal to almost every visitor, both young and old. Sea Island sports and recreation facilities include:
- Sea Island Beach Club for a Private Beach, two pools, water sports and dining.
- Sea Island Golf Club with three 18-hole courses, the Clubhouse and instruction.
- Retreat Tennis Center with lighted courts, a shop and instruction.
- Sea Island Spa for complete personal services and fitness classes.
- Sea Island Shooting School for skeet, trap and sporting clays instruction.
- Sea Island Stables for guided beach and marsh rides, ring riding, instruction and boarding.

For additional family activities as members of Sea Island you are invited to participate in our Cloister planned activities that include sports outings, family suppers, and children's parties.
